okay well we're going to make it tonight I'm playing we got a lot of recognition visuals and businesses I disappear show me the first part of our board meeting tonight just instructions for those of you that happened to be a friend of Education will call you up you do not have to speak unless you want to if you want to sing please feel free to do that I'm just getting to my exit talk you do not have to the principal here in a second will call you up once you get the plaque you'll have a seat and then we'll let you exit to take a picture now after your picture you're more than welcome to come back in a few business items or two great opportunity you want to go move on with your Monday evening to do that as well so we'll go ahead and get started we'll begin our recognitions with Byars Dowdy you want to go ahead go ahead and do the individual individual because she literally is always there and she was standing with me last year however we recognized the business last year and so our individual is Miss Mandy Belcher she is just a part of her we don't what we would do without you Sam Houston this is a joint venture here and so I'll say a little bit about this business and what they do for Byars Dowdy and then I know that you can Echo every word that I say which is why we're doing a joint venture so very similar to my individual this company does everything for buyer's down like all we have to do is literally send up a smoke signal and they're there and not only are they there with financial support but more importantly they are there in person helping out with lunch duty helping out with giving cookie dough passing out helping out with just a little a little bit of everything and so I'll let you say okay and then we'll meet you there so they also helps with our our fundraiser came out help with our reward that they've done everything for us like she said all have to do it I mean we hardly even had to have the words out of there are Miles and they show up so this is going to go from Byars Dowdy and Sam Houston to Wilson Bank & Trust for Desha's Gabby to just because intros and so like I said it's just really just great knowing that it truly does take a village to help with our kids and so we really do have a village in my individual and in my cousin so thank you all from the bottom of my heart Sam Houston sentence for Zone 8 Becca what we said just a second ago we would not be able to do what we do without Wilson Bank & Trust on Gabby Woods is there all the time for Bank days but it doesn't matter whatever we need to solve waste Debbie's we appreciate you and then this presentation is going to somebody who goes above and beyond in helping us maintain our ground so many years ago he wanted to give back and so he began decorating our flower beds making sure that everything was cut back and and kept and all that this is going to mr. Richard gamma and we couldn't do what we did with that one thank you except going to go with Castle Heights Dr Lawson income presented a our first and recognition for our friend of education at Castle Heights goes to a family that if you know them you know just how spectacular they are to just jump the kitchen and be a friend to anyone it's honestly it doesn't matter if they know you were don't know either happy to help because that's just their spirit and that's their heart not only are they parents in our building but they are also coaches 24-hour blue a team so we spend a lot of time together we get them to really watch them in death in our student and in our faculty and the lessons that they do so are so beautiful because they're really you know concerned about making sure that our children are not just and bright athletes that they are also wonderful and people of character and it's an honor to an award that family Jeremy and Emily. our second award and they're not here tonight to ask to get this achievement in person because we have our Christmas musical that's happening currently and their child is performing and so they are there but our a business award is to Gregory Dental Group this family has invested so much in our school and they are really concerned with not just you know facts I'll be in students but I'm Doctor Gregory is always wanting to make sure he got your loss to make sure we're taking care of that ye make sure you were taken care of the custodian he bought a golf umbrellas and this past year for our volunteers that help with our car rider line because he noticed that they were out in the wind in the rain and so it's just a little details that they pay attention to and it has meant so much so Gregory Dental Group forward to Coles Ferry Wilson Bank & Trust brings a herd as you can see and then we had one back to the video and I lost track of the Kurt Baker with Wilson Bank & Trust you would a friend of Education Mercedes-Benz Houston all right so our friend of Education presented to Rebecca Walker Rebecca is a true friend to Coles Ferry she has two children they are they are wonderful they have just adopted us and they do so much organizing the fundraiser and financial help in volunteering and you love standing up here as well so our friend of Education of this, this partnership came about through everyone's Wilson in this was last year and this church is just amazing it is the Church of God Worship in Ministry Center and Pastor Drew is up here come on at Pastor Drew we kind of started last year just they came in and just kind of loving on the teachers and bringing sweet treats and coffee and just you know just a lot of positive affirmations and so this summer contacted me and they did a shoe drive and so I went the beginning of August and I presented Kohl's with over 300 pairs of shoes brand new shoes and 87 backpacks next up we've got Jones brummitt Elementary I am I'm like the rest of I'm so honored to be here and and to recognize our individual friend of Education in our business partner so I'd like to start with the individual her name is Jess the off if you would come on up. doesn't want her getting know her she has a child at John from it she is one of Walter J and just a joy she is being G and a servant's heart and we'll step and we kind of looked around to do and subbing and and the teachers just kind of fight over her and she ate dinner out and they all want massage but she just one that she just facial and she jump in if we need extra help just as the one that's going to do any anything we need your one and we just appreciate you and really were honored with the Lord thank you I want to see this partnership was introduced set up with everyone's Wilson I just award goes to I just recognition go to First Baptist Church of Lebanon and I like for Benji and they have chess really and truly I am honored with the date that we started out just kind of like some of the others as said they love them teachers 22 right now with their help with the setup are with our houses it jumps from it you guys have just being available and help with just a teacher stuff like tearing out workbook pages it so that the it frees up the teachers to be in their classroom and then we're kind of excited we just finally got the go-ahead we're going to start a lunch bag program at our school where some of the members I've had the volunteer background checks and they're going to joint with a few of our students off with parents permission to just what's with Anne and that they don't have anybody to come eat lunch with them like a like a lot of our food that so we're excited to see that that program and start that in January so we are honored to present you with this award thank you next. Walter J Baird alright so I'm very honored to present this award and I was extremely excited when was Quigley called me about asking couple years ago if I'd be interested in partnering up with Judge Barry Tatum with the group called student Outreach and resilience our store group and we have about 16 kids in that and it is is I program to develop later and our students are able to be partnered up with a mentor and every week they meet with their Mentor at school often on campus off-campus just recently a couple weeks ago went to the Capitol Downtown he's provided through his program etiquette classes at Sammy be so I'd like to recognize Judge Barry Titan she comes every single way to our mating we used to have a very in-depth conversations about our kiddos so the mentors and we talk about what's been going on that week with the kids in school out of school and it is it is truly making a difference play slap an invite. Can you play love for the cooperation we got from the little sister from Miss Sparkman and from a Miss Kegley bit Petty but I wanted Jenny to come up here so she's really the one that's put the labor and all of this and her husband is here with her with her tonight she makes the program work that our goal is hopefully to expand this Oliver middle schools throughout the cow volunteers and it  and it's just reassuring to see the group here tonight cuz we live in a wonderful community and thank y'all thank you. our other friend of education is Long Point charge Dawn Santana and of the kidneys are not able to be here tonight they have provided us with weekly backpacks and home to our students to can use those at home they also provide us with money each month for students who can't afford their their weekly lunch fees and dues they also have to give money for students whose homes have burned down in the last couple of years so again lost point last but not least doctor office so our friend and education tonight individual started off as a sub and then we snatched up for permanent sub position but mr. Wiggins has gone way above and beyond what a substitute would do when he comes in middle school kids some time to cool to work with people and stuff at is really impacting our kids they love them and they called mister Ray and they were so excited to see him everyday that he's here and he comes in sometimes on Wednesdays is not scheduled a people small groups and he's helping kids with math throughout the building and he probably doesn't see the data or knows the impact that he's having but he's really really helping our 6th grade and 7th grade kids with math and we couldn't do it without his help mr. Wiggins and our business time and this was through everyone's Wilson also College Hill Church of Christ we have hope Sampson here representing hope if you want to come on up they have been incredible you know helping kids other schools and said the same things about organizations helping in college Hills has been with us many many many years even before I started six years ago it's a beautiful partnership anything we need they help with our students basic needs that our students I need clothing-wise school supplies they help with our teachers we have is wonderful to know system where we recognize teachers for just doing wonderful thing being supportive colleagues and they get in Uno cards and they just I cash in there are no cards for gift cards that College Hill supplied to us and where's Auntie mini 5 + 10 + 20 + $25 gift card it is so hard for us to schools to really do things to support our teachers above and beyond and they help us do that and that really impacts our teacher morale and just makes Winfree Bryant a great place to be but we cannot do it without the continued supports of thank you hope so tell to a friend's vegetation first of all thank you Ian and we live in a very special place so we're thankful to each of you. Jones Mike motion we approve the agenda I second that no public comment tonight no puppet, no sir approved minutes from previous for me you've been asleep for an action verb or approval of love these teachers. can you do the following teacher's salary bars that if you want to come up do you want to do them all at once with emotion and and are we going to do them individual and then we'll call them up individually every one of them to recommend for tenure make a motion to do that by second alright so the laughs and scores and so we're really excited we have a big bunch big group that we're excited and so I laugh and joke some of them but if the board would come up I'm going to call them up and then you can give them a handshake and congratulate him as you get your token of our appreciation the first. It it's it's the last two we replace were from buyers doubting they were 19 72 and 77 so I don't know if they'll last that long this time I make a motion to approve for the request for the bid on the dishwasher BJ the unoccupied residential property at Castle Heights and yes sir you can see resolution there is a property development beside Castle Heights adjacent be on the left side of it it is not currently have any residents no students are in it at this moment through our Capacity Analysis for the RFP they recommended we Zone that particular one we have room at Cold Spring Elementary Castle Heights is not at capacity but this would support allowing them to more growing room and breathing room and once again bacon has the space for them. that would be moving that zone at $2 hour and we'll go out to the zoning following yes which needed approval the board decides. I'm at the motion we got approved the resolution to rezone I second that budget School Federal Government projects son yes sir we had an accounting update the school account Emmanuel updated comptroller made it agreeable or provable for once and once a budget is approved and federal budgets are approved when we do our GP budget that it that would carry forward rather than having to come back for any line item changes we're proposing that we allow that to happen with our federal budgets as well make an ocean equipment second record important that we got one more student wellness policy we need to know this is an update to the student wellness policy on your last reach the change would be there 11 items and coordinated school health that are reviewed annually this change it would be one of them it would be random that if selected and this was a recommendation for this policy I make the motion we approve the policy change. Now you directors before we already touched on this RFP that we've AccuWeather Kansas they've completed their capacity and Zoning the data collection portion so we can look for a report in January that gives us predictions on what our schools will be enrolled within the next 5 Years. Also make zoning record directions second item is a reference before Tennessee Department of Education is a following through with 2017 legislation for school letter grades embargo till December 21st and have information to provide at that time I've included it within your packet but was looking forward to that coming out towards the end of the week lastly just an update we are at I just finalized it will be pushing out I should be update for parents and families after Christmas they'll have I took Greg communication tool be able to push out notifications schedule changes lots of lots of other pieces of information and would be promotion legislation at last year we dealt with there grade and fourth grade we're going to start a parent meetings again Idol starting January 4th or 3rd grade families to let any of them know that might be impacted by retention we're also waiting on fourth grade adequate growth state board will meet and February to finalize what a fourth grade attic Woodrow this acceptable and as a district we will meet with the 4th grade families that's all I have at the direct support reminder surgery summer in your package and then was getting questions on it if not teaching our nutmeg family professional development has been going on we've been able to send in the dark features to the National social studies conference weekly Felder net and they were very appreciative sitting and fired them and help them to kind of get a little fire red again to see new things that were out there we've also had teachers attend the science conference which was held in Murfreesboro and we send our computer teachers to a conference in Nashville so we've been able to spend a lot of teachers to get some new training see what's out there what's coming up in especially our computer science this year we are preparing for the law for all middle school students to have computer science for one grading. Within the year so that will begin next year so we've had a lot of information would be sharing and training middle schools will have to schedule that in all of the current 7th graders will be required to have that course next year with the new state standards that we have for computer science so we're gearing up get that Mighty Med with personal chat with other districts to come and get ideas of how can we make this happen and the teachers have to be endorsed and trained so we have our two computer teachers right now signed up with the State Department of Education to get that so that they're ready for next year so we'll be working toward that take carry is on through we're finishing up her Benchmark today actually had to extend it because of some illness with her statements so that will end today for a year and we look forward in life and all that dead on top called a witch when we return on January 1st next board meeting February 12th I think you should wait to change that yes sir if possible is currently February 12th and get some schedule conflicts with February 5th be agreeable that's the first Monday in February finally got me some good deal February 5th will make that change any other business Moon lover board you really know nothing will be a journey thank you for coming
