Section 504

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination against persons with a disabling condition or disorder in any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. In compliance with state and federal law, the Lebanon Special School District will provide to each protected student with a disabling condition or disorder without discrimination or cost to the student or family, those related aids, services or accommodations which are needed to provide equal opportunity to participate in and obtain the benefits of the school program and extracurricular activities to the maximum extent appropriate to the student’s abilities.

To be eligible, a student must be determined to: (a) have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; (b) have a record of such impairment; or (c) be regarded as having such impairment.
