Welcome New LSSD Board Members-

We officially welcome our four newly elected members to the Board of Education:

 

Wayne Oakley — District 1

Maria Scalisi — District 2

Israel Woodson — District 3

Larry Jones — District 4

 

We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of the candidates who stepped up with a willingness to serve our community and students.

As we welcome new faces, we also celebrate the extraordinary leadership and dedicated service of our outgoing board members:

 

Joel Thacker (Served: 2002–2008 & 2020–2026)

Mark Tomlinson (Served: 2006–2026)

 

Together, they have contributed decades of volunteer service to our schools. Please join us in thanking them for their immense impact on our district!

 

We also extend our gratitude to Board Chair Mrs. Heather Sadler Gallaher for her continued leadership and ongoing service to our Board of Education.

August 25th at Winfree Bryant Middle School

5:30 PM: Swearing-in ceremony for our new board members.

6:00 PM: Regularly scheduled board meeting.

 

Note: This will mark the final meeting for our outgoing members as we honor their years of dedication.

 

September 14th

Our newly elected board members will officially take their seats at our regularly scheduled September meeting.
