I wasn't trying to do anything underhanded or anything like that but he wasn't going today was going to deal with no way with me so and I almost lost it one time. Kurtz speak to what we have and next steps moving forward and and really just that this is a piece of several for our overall safety strategies several districts across the state that have dim this type of product our district as hard on myself I know that was kind of schools is gone over in in demo this as well there's just one school district in the state that I'm aware of it's done Mass purchases of this DeKalb County Georgia just allocated 8 million dollars for this same system if you've been to a Titans game that's what we're talkin about it save people an hour I'll make use of analytics and artificial intelligence technology to be able to detect weapons it's all online I'm not telling any secrets but it it does detect weapons in and of themselves and it wouldn't detect up by for a paperclip if you can turn it down that much but it's more geared towards paint guns rifles that type of thing that it it's going to monitor and we have a deployment plan that we're putting together that I would be part of our overall safety plan that's not public record so I would discuss it individual if you'd like we asked for executive approval based on the pricing structure changed March 1st I talk to the vendor today and it's more the lease option now it's not forever scope one single Lane this year is what we're looking for you're not it's a we have a plan we have that correct way of the deployment plan that we're putting the gas I don't know when you going to be there I can share some with you the only question I had was with Brian today was with safety since we only have one of them is this just a instead of looking at doing something for all the schools I know moving around fine but I would rather have safety for all the schools and just have something to where you just have it at one school cuz I'm asking like Waze I'd like that if it's something I mean even if we just had to get more police officers you know what they wanted to get $70,000 is a lot of money for one machine with technology I don't want it like 5 years from now to meet or something like that I just want to make sure if it's a plan that you know where I can we do need to buy a spare tire we need a full size tire and if we can do all the schools I would rather do all the schools instead of just do one because how fat how we going to differentiate with school going to do it I probably should have that machine there I just it's just a scenario where you're looking at what you know we can't prevent we talked about this we can't prevent things can happen anywhere in a day people that have issues but I just think that we could do something implemented all the schools that end just level the field level security kit you know I mean even not saying dogs but they have present at all the school just going to help Elevate that you know I think they don't mean half the time they run to Wine by if you don't know if it's working or not I'm just saying that but if there could be something that week after that instead of buying this one unit where what if we don't sit and watch a music latest to start off with Auto I think he's talked to the police department and they're willing to Brian dog up there anytime we want to and just running down the hallway is that correct me if I'm wrong Mike and they can't smell it so globally we have a plant at 8 week we do have a plan what the future would look like and I can't disagree with you more I mean I agree with you more I would love to have X amount of dollars to plan what we're going to do to increase the safety and all schools we can't predict what's going to happen but there's add-ons to some equipment we already have that will give us some artificial intelligence capabilities as well on Metro Government just look to do that same add-on we were in discussions with our current vendor right now there are the capability to have any type of animal a dog to do any type of service that we need is a phone call where we're looking at a bigger plan than that though that wheat that out I would love to sit down individually with each of you to go over kind of what we've put together and a lot of this is with the parents that were the last meeting and we met with them and they had some great ideas that it when we sat and talked to them that we would like to discuss about that but I don't some of the things we would like to do or want to do would being part of our safety plan. We would not want to discuss it this because it is public record and not that we're hiding anything but we don't want the general public to realize what we had what we can and do have a vehicle to put in place end of reinforce mr. when we had the conversation earlier and with mr. Jones it's we don't want anything to seem like it is a Band-Aid it isn't part of the process and it's not in response to make sure we keep our schools actual device we've been looking at for about two years of the price point has come down over that time and it so it's it's not something that is royalty I knew that we decided all of a sudden to say hey look at it it is something we would like to go and Implement and my thinking with doing a single thing that you can also do a double lame as well as one device to it to look at it is I want to see what it what is actually can do on our campuses but we can move at elementary schools which there are separate entrances there's a lot of things that come into play because not everybody enters through indoor everyday and so but I think this is a step in the direction of what we need to do you want your thing if there's there's a training process but it would be this year that it could be up and running yes sir are these the sros will play a part in it we would we already have people at the doors and so we would have an administrator as well as other Personnel it's it's not they're made to be mobile this one is made to BMO we've already assigned that to a person in our district to make that happen so how much money are we going to get from the from the state for same to you major but you know what they're telling us is part of their the safety Granite self there is allocated out at ISA so it it would be in there which they say it's going to be a little bit more than we normally would have gotten the BP formula how much more but they definitely has allocated another 20 million dollars which about equals what we generally get which is somewhere around the 70 $75,000 range that we get in our safety Grant competitive Grant so how do you feel about putting I can till we see the capabilities and I want to see it what it what it looks like and it's kind of hard you hope that it's so effective we never catch anything get the deterrents alone I can't answer that question to say if we had all the money in the world I think this is a great solution know what I was thinking to go on your kids and I'm going to regardless don't matter I mean my suggestion would be to see how this works then put it in if it works great and you all of it and honest kind of put it in the neck there was no no more have we been this out at all so it is it is on a contract we piggybacked off of contract it it's a bent it's out of Bedford County contract and the price point on these are pretty solid because there is a Motorola ours are the way ours are tied in has to be a Motorola type device this company evolved makes it for different Bend hours of tied to Motorola products and it sits on our internet along with our other two products that we have forsaken which is our analytic cameras in our access control system Heather's triggered built-in inside of that that do certain things for our district is there any other options that we looked at for security other than the end-all-be-all transport so you know you mentioned wanting you know we currently do that one site in our district it's more of a controlled site there's a Time aspect of that as well and there's demand power respect I was telling mr. how Delta David are you get into the wind picking up the abstract metal metal by the floor that type of thing where is it a is it a reading then you have to have additional Personnel to pool to decide or an adult decide to do a pat-down search once that happens and so normal metal detector which would be not movable either and looks Draconian type where it's it just isn't effective that you would say when you walk into the courthouse or something like that and if you notice when you walk in how much Manpower it takes this this is set up to take two people one to monitor the screen and iPad and then one there to assist if something is located so to answer your question we have other methods and I think it's a is the only ones that are technically exposed if they're in their office because of how do we have an office is located but you can't gain access into the school year in a compartment and that was a step but I think it's time to change we have to go with technology and this is an advanced systems I mean you have Boone schools got six doors come in on schools is that for so where you got enough to go on all six of them doors at 11 units 11 unit and that's that's why we were starting with the don't let me that would be the one you put on the front door or whatever if you put one on a huge price break on something like that I would imagine so and I think there's there's there's a adjustment that we could do to traffic flow of the students as well that they're routed certain ways you know talk about this quite a bit schools weren't made to be present weathers one Dory come in and when do you leave you no schools were made to be schools and we try to make it look as normal and integrates well into the school but I think I'm up with the traffic flow I'm not cars but students in in the building that could be adjusted to minimize the cost do you have any idea how many entrances we have it the difference we got over there Bells Ferry I think they use three main entrances so if you look at that as a model I went for Bryant has one Walter J you said wait for brown has how many days 1103 is the most we would have any one school I would say if that was the way we chose to go yet but I think we could probably even reduce it more than that mainly you look at car riders and bus riders as if you don't have a lot of room for vehicles I can maybe backup out on the street so they get split up into different doors I think if you're going to meet him like what you're saying I think I mean I think one would be good way to start like you're saying it expected kind of make sure that it works and then all the sudden you have buyer's remorse but yeah remind me to if the one already missed a bid and out there I would say we're not so I know of three other school districts that I talked with that are in the process of discussing funding for the ease and so I think that as technology advances they'll be more willing and a half million dollars basically to avoid looking forward to proving every school did you say this we're just leave yes that's why we went ahead and no it's that yes it's that top price single line with a one year lease on one year licensing agreement one-year license in your we pay a license agreement on most of our software every year so yeah there's a will have to license this every year effective first-year fifteen thousand a year 15000 does all that grades updates to the Analytics so it amazes me the technology pieces that we have not just with this the cost that we have to pay to purchase a license every single year from our virtual backup systems to all of that the end we're not buying any hardware for not buying any new software for the purpose in life is it going like firewalls and things like that that to make sure nobody can access to it, like it ties into our current system that were using and within that system there is licenses that we have to apply the cameras and access control our one-time license though since it's for an upgrade and it includes everything that we need as as they Advanced the technology they push system I don't know the answer to that because I I'm not a technology Guru I really don't know I can tell you that because of how the software integrates and you could imagine the technology artificial intelligence as well as the metal detection forward and rear-facing cameras there's a lot of Technology built into this that has to be kept up that's what I like to do learning is my cell phone was not something like that but we are concerned about it and we're going to take her kids whatever we have to do if we have to do without something else you know that's the most important thing that I want to see young protected you know I'd rather see our kids for taking and I'll let the parents to feel like the kids off with cat get there and I think that y'all are done a good job of it improve things and make things we can't make everything perfect especially the first year taking you know there's no telling what we'll be out in the next 3 or 4 years do that so you are making an effort that's all we can do and I think that's a good a day that you were you were done and you feel good about it and I know that you stated this cuz I know how you are because you don't study for me can be tuned down low enough to pick up keys or pocket knives shave abnormality you had in your back pocket and it would put a box on you it doesn't have a siren but there's someone with an iPad when however the metal detection and the artificial intelligence works it doesn't penetrate like an x-ray does I don't know the technology behind it I could just tell you that the pieces they put the Heather and then there's triggers that go on our system that there's alerts there's other things that our system allows us to do that is built into our safety plan have a gun in there and turn around and wrap it up in your hoodie and packing in your bangs and you back back it up she'll pick it up through that any other kind of material that's weird. are the questions on that I did want the iPad do in 2nd to 5th or come up with the four-year deployment with those and Middle School's Chromebooks with a three-year deployment obviously do all middle schoolers allowed to take him home it's an abuse so we do carry the warranties on those as well as some of our staff we happy few worth 812 a day that come in a blackout over the years early on it seemed like we had more missing but no we you know we have a pretty good track record of even students don't leave have them shipped back to you from even the other schools right now we have HP and Lenovo south of the Court were looking at her some Lenovo devices we try to look at a little part of your fokir system I know we used to do a long time ago before I started that we would be up or braids and give them to the lower grades and we would buy new ones every year no because second graders keep them for 4 years and then the middle schoolers Kiki them in sixth grade and keep them to the 8th grade we are we have switched we last year was the first year that rode out with a bit of a separate case where they take them out and then they're not protected we've gone to more of that would cut a gumdrop case it's a plastic case with kind of rubber edges so that all in it and it's collapsible they're not in a separate case so in that is a cheaper option than buying the surfer cases well so will you have them start of the next year are you going to do that what up what is on this Surplus list does not include Chromebooks what is hurdles referring to is because this Surplus list takes up space as we bring it we need a place to
