School Safety

See Something, Say Something
Our Mission
At the Lebanon Special School District (LSSD), our mission is to create and support a safe learning environment for students, staff, and families, leading to lifelong success. We believe every student should feel safe, supported, and excited to learn every day.
Our Safety Supports
We take a multidisciplinary approach to ensure the highest level of safety and security across all LSSD schools. Our partners include:
  • Wilson County Sheriff's Office
  • Lebanon Police Department
  • School-based C.A.R.E. Teams (Crisis Assessment Response & Education)
  • District-based C.A.R.E. Team
These teams collaborate closely to assess concerns, provide proactive supports and respond quickly to any safety issues.
On-Campus Safety Measures
  • School Resource Officers (SROs): Every LSSD school has a dedicated SRO building positive relationships with students while ensuring security on campus.
  • Blaze, the Kinetic Detection Dog: Blaze, our trained K-9, adds an additional layer of security and serves as a friendly face in our schools.
  • Safety Drills & Training: Regular training ensures students and staff are prepared for various emergency situations.
  • See Something, Say Something: Report it. Don't Spread it! Maintaining safe and secure campuses remains our highest priority. Use the Wilson County Tip Line to report suspicious activity.
